Peter Victor Smith, age 54 of Hudson passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2023. He was born May 16, 1968 in Warrington, United Kingdom, and grew up in Liverpool. Peter is preceded in death by his parents, Roger Victor and Thelma Elizabeth (nee Young) Smith. He is survived by his beloved wife Clare (nee Bullen) Smith; his loving children; Thomas (Tommy) James Smith and Holly Elizabeth Ann Smith.

After the College, Peter studied further in Liverpool and then in Derby and Southampton, becoming a Chartered Management Accountant in 1994. As a student in Liverpool he met Clare and they were happily married for over 26 years, sharing so many cherished memories together. Family and friends meant everything to Peter and he was immensely proud of his two children and the caring, compassionate young adults they have become. Dogs were also a huge part of Peter’s family and he could regularly be seen enjoying a walk with his faithful companions. Always active, Peter ran a number of marathons over the years. Biking was also a great love and he spent many hours riding in the Cuyahoga Valley with his friends. He was an avid traveler and was always planning his next adventure - family ski trips, exploring different continents with friends or creating memories on father/son and father/daughter trips.

In his career life Peter was the Division Vice President, Finance at Ametek, in Kent, Ohio. He joined Ametek in 1998 as a Group Controller, first working in England before moving to the Kent, Ohio office in 2004. He approached his work with the same integrity and drive he applied to all aspects of his life.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Peter’s memory to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org) or the British Heart Foundation. (www.bhf.org.uk )
