Old Lerpoolian Lodge No 9270

Welcome to the Old Lerpoolian Masonic Lodge page, the latest addition to the Lerpoolians website!

There aren’t many schools that are lucky enough to have their own masonic lodge and we’re particularly proud to be part of ours. It’s been one of the lesser well-known aspects of school life since it was created in 1988 but always highly-valued by the various generations of Lerpoolians who have been and continue to be members.

Perhaps you’re already a Freemason but not directly connected to the college lodge. You may have other connections to Freemasonry through family and friends. Or it may be that you’ve never been interested or involved in any way and formed your beliefs and opinions about Freemasons and Freemasonry from what you’ve read in books, in the newspapers or even from references in films such as the Da Vinci Code!

There’s plenty of information about Freemasonry on the web of course but the two most reliable sources of information, if you’d like to find out more, is from the official West Lancashire Freemasons page - https://www.westlancsfreemasons.org.uk – or from one of our current members.

We want to be more visible to this and future generations of Lerpoolians and encourage more people to get the facts about who we are and what we do and what we stand for, and perhaps even consider joining us. We’re grateful to the Lerpoolians website for allowing us the space to share our story.

In a nutshell, we’re welcoming, inclusive, supportive and we’re all from different backgrounds, beliefs and walks of life. Ages range from 18 to 80 and the one thing that binds us is camaraderie the shared pleasure of being with like-minded people who enjoy tradition, a good helping of fascinating ceremony and a desire to help others through our commitment to charity.

We meet just four times a year at our base at Woolton Golf Club where we enjoy some wonderful food, great company and lively conversation after our formal Lodge meeting. We want to highlight the Lodge to Lerpoolians past and present and offer an opportunity to find out more and perhaps then even consider joining us.

And if you’re reading this as a member of another lodge in Lancashire or any other province, we’d love to welcome you as our guest at one of our future meetings and perhaps persuade you to become a joining member.

Although we welcome members from outside the college fraternity, we’re particularly keen to see Lerpoolians swell our ranks.

Whatever questions or even reservations you may have, we’re here to listen to them and we’ll be happy to tell you almost everything you want to know about what it is to be a Freemason in the Old Lerpoolian Lodge.
